Frequently asked questions
- How do I open an existing .md file? Tap the file in your file manager (Files, Downloads, etc.) and choose Markdown Rocks. The document is imported as a copy into your library.
- Where are my documents stored? In the app's private local library on your device. Nothing is uploaded — there is no cloud and no account.
- Does editing an opened file change the original? No. Opening a file imports a copy; edits stay in the app's library. To get the content out, use Share to export it as a .md file.
- How do I share a note as a file? In the library, open the document's menu (⋯) and choose Share — the note is attached to the Android share sheet as a real .md file.
- What are the three modes? Live shows formatting rendered as you type; Source shows the raw Markdown with line numbers; Reading is a clean view without editing. Switch with the icons in the editor toolbar.
- How do I change theme or language? Settings → Theme for light/dark/system; Settings → Language for English, Português (Brasil) or Español (or follow the device language).
- How do I delete everything? Settings → Danger Zone clears the whole library (it asks for a typed confirmation), or simply uninstall the app. See Delete account / data.
